Our shire is drought declared with water restrictions looming.......... I have just been watering my pawpaw trees started 45, then 40 now about 35....... There are some nice green lawns about but I'm just a bit sympathetic with the poor farmers just west of here, Selling animals because they have no feed. Anyway here's the back lawn.......... And the front lawn, I connected the washing machine gray water to some old hoses joined together...... cheers speedy
it said i have reached my limit of attachments.........

In Adelaide we have a superb Desal Plant which everyone originally bitched about being built too late but as such I can't ever see us going down the restrictions road again. At the moment the plant is servicing Adelaide Metro, while the water being pumped from the Murray is being used out in the rural areas.
Cheers, BB.
I live a 24 Hour lifestyle, but every now and again I seem to fall asleep, well at least that's what my wife tells me.
Hi B_B NK and Speedy, not to be critical but I can't help being concerned about the effect of such a concentrated amount of washing detergent in the first lot of discharge. I have taken to pouring the final rinse water on the nature strip by filling a watering can and walking out with it.
Ahh, if only victa had kept producing the thumblatch catcher series, they would be in better shape today!

MF, I have heard the detergent acts as a wetting agent, never tried it though
We pump the rinse water out onto our apple trees or into a wheelie bin
