Picked up a Blitz 501 chainsaw this morning not going of course It seemed to be starving for fuel, once i stripped the carby i found the problem, it was full of muck. It runs ok now, these saw are made by "Oleo Mac", good quality Italian saws. Now this one is alive again i had better get back to the Snapper
Hi daniel, The air filter was not seated properly which allowed all the muck to get past the air filter. When i had the carby off i had a look at the piston & barrel,it all looks good luckily.
Hey gmax, Great pics mate, good to see she's now going again, and what a steal at that price, eh!! and , of course, just in time for winter!! Kindest Regards, Darryl

Hi daniel, & Darryl, I bought from ebay, it was advertised as not going & pickup only, Darryl,i don't want to use it for firewood, i have another 3 saws for that. I just want to add it to my Italian saw collection, but its nice to have it running. My wife thinks I'm mad, but i let her buy a new sewing machine, so she's happy. gmax
Hi gmax
awesome saw, i'm also collecting oleo mac saws and have the same model blitz 501.
Mine has a dodgy coil tho and is proving a nightmare to locate one.
would love to see some of your other oleo macs
