Hi Guys

I have a Victa 160 Power Torque Mower,Has good compression,fully rebuilt carby,new fuel lines and Tap,New air cleaner,and new spark plug,Has good blue spark but it wont start.If i remove spark plug and put a bit of fuel down bore it will run.Can i please get some Help??? Thanks guys greatly appreciated.

has it got crank case compression ? remove starter assembly and replace the o-ring under starter this normally causes those symtoms.

Yes I have replaced that seal with new one and still the same.

Evidently there is no fuel getting in from the carby to the engine...

Is the poppet valve set in the C position?
Is the float chamber behind the primer plate filling with fuel?
Do you have a GENUINE primer cap installed? (very important the non genuine ones are rubbish)
Is the jet clear and able to be blown through easily?
Is where the jet screws in clear and able to be blown through?
Is there good fuel flow from the tank with the fuel tap turned on?

Yes the poppet valve is new and is on C, carby has new primer & Genuine cap main jet,new float and valve,new diaphragm rubber and new springs and vacum lines to carby.The only thing that hasnt been replaced on carby is the plastic body that the throttle cable attaches too. The primer cap is filling up with fuel also. All jets and cavities are free flowing with no blockages at all,I have great fuel flow from tank also,and this damit thing still wont start lol.I dont want to let this mower bet me other wise my wife take the piss out of me lol. Have you pulled out the kill wires from the carby as sometimes the little rubber grommet wears out and the two wires touch thus meaning you dont get any spark. It can act erratically when worn.

Just pull both the kill wires out and see if she goes. if it does you will have to turn the fuel off at the tap. it wont turn off at the snorkel.

just go it sorted,i stripped down the carby again and replaced primer cap,valve and float and she started but wouldnt rev past choke idle speed,so i dropped of the exhaust and away she went so i had a blocked exhaust as well as my fuel problem,But im glad she is running now (Can give the Miss sore ears from the noise now lol).Just want to give a big THANK YOU to all the guys that gave me advice on this post,You guys ROCK!!!! have a great & safe easter guys.
