When I got my new Scott Bonnar model 48,it can came with a bonus mower.Which is this Victa Cortina 2.Now originally I was going to wreck this poor old girl, but now after having a good look at it.I don't think I will, the engine seems very good and besides rust on the handles and two chunks from the front of the base (which I believe is fixable).I think it will clean up very well.My only big problem is I don't have a catcher for it.Now I know Rodeobob had one, which I left with him (kind of wished I hadn't now).I mean it wasn't good but it was most likely repairable. So now I will need to find one for it.I think the starter is cactus as well it really doesn't do what it's suppose to do,it just makes a lot of noise trying to do it.Here have a look.

I mean it looks sad but I think it's still worth saving.

Yes that's what I thought and compression oh my lord it's got heaps. It even gets hard to turn by hand when it's on it compression stroke.I don't think it's had a lot of use, there's not many use marks except for the front. There no real scratches down the sides. The hub caps except one are fairly good.I think it just spent a lot of time sitting in the Brisbane weather.

What's the serial?

that looks like a 63-64 to me, I think I have the original sales brochure and manual here for that, as well as the workshop books, and perhaps a catcher!

Cheers
Ty

They are indeed!

The 160cc engine was not introduced till 1967 on the 160cc Corvette, and the 160cc Self Propelled, at that point the corvette was available in either engine size!

Cheers

No those ones you have are more like the Corvette base. The one I need looks more like this.

Have been having some fun getting this old girl ready to run.It had no spark so that was the first thing on the list to fix.

This is tank before clean.Good on the outside, bad on the inside has like a crusty carbon like sustains on the inside.Soaking in thinner overnight hopefully should break it down.

Happy to see air filter element inside air box.It is also in great condition, should clean up very well.

After cleaning and now has a good spark.Carby was also given a good clean.Had yucky crusty stuff in bottom.

I believe that they did take the same catcher, however I one that I'm chasing is the metal catcher not the plastic one.

I have one metal one here, I'll have to see if it's a match for the cortina, I beleive by 67 they were onto the plastics, which I have one of too.

That is a 64, so I have manuals etc. for you!

Cheers
Ty

Well I knew that, but I think the plastic one will still fit the Cortina as well as the Corvette.

Yes they were plastic by 67,that's why I need a metal one,but you would find that I could put the plastic one on my Cortina as it would fit.I want the metal one as it is a 1964 model so it would be the steel catcher.

20 that I know of there could have been even more.I don't have any of my books here, but the one I do have here I can see 20 different models that were available in 1967.
