Thanks Jack, That was a good read. He sounds like an Aussie Howard Hughes.
He offered it to me for $120 . Is it a rare machine?
I don't really restore things for historical value.
Guess it's not self propelled?
Wonder if anyone is interested in buying it for a project?

The Mowall is rare but not super-rare.

For me, the value is in the provenance.
Max Western's research told us this was a Dowling design.
So, an Australian design for our conditions.

That's right - this machine had less than a 24" cut width.
With big wheels, it would have been easy to push on level ground.

Note the Villiers Engine. This is probably original to the mower.
Marino were fitting these to later Mowalls.

I hope this one is saved!

I had a Deckson 7 HP slasher , similar but bigger and self propelled. I used to use it for slashing and mowing lawns.... It did a great job......
Maybe I need a new mower......
