Hello
ODK History Lovers
The second most successful lawnmower company in Australia by the end of the 1950s
was
Pace Mowers. They held an increasing market share, and were embracing the new
range of
Villiers engines specifically designed for rotary lawnmowers.
History records that Victas
Mervyn Richardson secretly purchased Pace mowers
from
John Longhurst (the founder of Pace Mowers) in order to control the market
in 1959. Pace was given leeway to develop lawnmowers separately from Victa for
the first few years. Credit to Victa for this.
This
Parts Manual dates from about
1963, a couple of years before Pace as a
distinct lawnmower maker - would lose its engineering autonomy and be subsumed
under the Victa umbrella when Pace would become just another Victa brand name.
I hope this manual will be helpful to collectors.
The rest is history.----------------------------
