My Rover Rancher, Model 1866, just slipped its cutter deck drive belt. I want to put it back in place.

I subscribed, and paid via Paypal, but may have made a mistake in the way i did it. I went directly to Paypal via the Donate button, and not knowing the fee was $15, donated $10. I then was not given access and finally discovered that I needed to donate more. So I donated $5 more, total $15.
I have not been able to access an operators manual, which many threads say is "going to be uploaded" for my model.
Is the operators manual online, and can I access it with my donation ($10 + $5)?

Help?

Thanks for anyone's help.
I want to keep my mower in good shape, it's vital for our property, and can't afford the local repair guys high prices.

Help!

Cheers,

Scott in Queensland

Hello Scott

I'm sorry to hear about this.
I understand how it happened too, as the Rover Ride-on page
does not give any subscription notice.

I have sent a parts manual to the email address you subscribed with.
Please let me know if you need more information on how to re-fit the
belt.

Hope this helps.

Thanks Jack.
Quick response, much appreciated.
I can't quite see how to drop the cutter deck (mine is the steel one) to allow for enough room to reset the belt.
Is there a description in the operators manual?

Perhaps I am not approaching this correctly.
The pulley at the front of the mower, on the bottom of the motor, that drives the cutter, is very close to a rod, with little room to move the belt back onto the pulley.
Can I drop the deck to replace the belt, or do I need to remove the deck entirely?

Any help you can provide is appreciated.
My approach has been to tip the mower on its side to access the bottom. Is there a better way to do this kind of work? Does it need to be on axle stands and upright?

Cheers,

Scott

Hello Scott

I'm trying to find a user manual for the 1866.
I'm hoping a member might also be able to help.
I'll let you know if I can get a copy of a manual.

Thanks again Jack.
I found a manual for an earlier model that has been helpful.
I managed to get the belt back on without moving the cutter deck!

All it took was good lighting, axle stands, cranking the engine pulley to enable me to force the belt down below the pulley so it could be turned inside out to get it in proper mode, then carefully aligning it all around the cutter pulley and the lower engine pulley.

It's working now. Yay!

Thanks again for your willingness to engage with a newcomer.
Learning as I go....

Cheers,

Scott

Hello Scott

That's a great outcome!
If I can find a user manual I will make sure you get a copy.

All the best.
