i think they both have the wrong wheels ? one has something like it should have and still to dark to go n look at the right ones . its only a base needed so if both 160's i need one to finish another the handle holes are flogged out badly , i remember something about ty sorting where those wheels fit into the picture yeh

Have you been using your phone again to take pictures? I can't quite tell if it is what I'm after or not.I'd say the one with the auto drive non teeth one won't be the right one.Don't suppose you could do some clearer pictures?

Is the one with the Auto Drive no teeth wheels hitting the base anywhere? Also does ether one have green paint on the handles? As I'm thinking they just be VC-160 bases.

There maybe another way to tell.Only thing is the engine needs to come off the base and under the engine near where it bolts on there is a number cast into the base. Now I can't remember what the VC-125 Mark I had but the Mark II has a 4 cast into it.If it's a 1 I believe it would be a VC-160 Mark II.I don't know what these numbers stand for,but from what I have seen they are slightly different from each other.Don't know why or what it means.

Well the metal one is the correct height adjuster for the Mark I & Mark II.That is the VC-160 Mark III was the first to have the plastic height adjuster 1972.Mark I & II were the metal ones. How many do you have with the plastic height adjusters? Was the 2 that were suppose to be the 125's have the metal or plastic height adjuster?

Here are my one in order. VC-160 Mark I 1970 ![[Linked Image]](https://www.outdoorking-forum.com.au/forum/uploads/usergals/2012/10/full-5048-8368-100_0653.jpg) VC-160 Mark II 1971 ![[Linked Image]](https://www.outdoorking-forum.com.au/forum/uploads/usergals/2012/10/full-5048-8369-100_0621.jpg) and last but by no means least VC-160 Mark IIIB 1972 ![[Linked Image]](https://www.outdoorking-forum.com.au/forum/uploads/usergals/2012/10/full-5048-8370-100_0923.jpg) You can also use the engine number to identify the years. If you want post them up and I will show you how to work it out. It's actually quite simple.

the one with the autodrive looking wheels does have some green on the handles yes and left rear wheel does touch the base at full hieght but i cant find any casting numbers anywhere , just a single 3 in between the mounting holes ![[Linked Image]](https://www.outdoorking-forum.com.au/forum/uploads/usergals/2012/10/full-5264-8391-mowers_205.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](https://www.outdoorking-forum.com.au/forum/uploads/usergals/2012/10/full-5264-8393-mowers_204.jpg) any good so far ? ![[Linked Image]](https://www.outdoorking-forum.com.au/forum/uploads/usergals/2012/10/full-5264-8394-mowers_201.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](https://www.outdoorking-forum.com.au/forum/uploads/usergals/2012/10/full-5264-8395-mowers_203.jpg) this blade plate was on this one ? 72 if i read it right .. the other one is a 71 engine , 307104255 .never seen a plate like that on one before so i put blades on it n tried it out , WOW does it cut well !!! so yes one is a goer carb problem but no worries ooops , that sticker reads . 5272831377

Yes as bob said universal disc I've seen that on a lot of different mowers. This engine number 307104255 isn't a VC-160 or a 125 number.If-fact I'm not even sure what that is off.It may be a department store mower.Tomorrow I'll go out and take some measurement of the base and compare them and see if any are the same.I can't say I have seen a 3 on there before. My 125 has a 4 on it.So maybe that one is close to what I need. Will see after we measure them.

Yeah I think your right I do believe that is a VC-125 base. It's just the numbers throwing me.The 3 that is,I'm starting to think these numbers mean something have a VC-160 Mark II (1971 which I'm in the middle of restoring) it has the number 1 on it.The VC-125 I have here (The broken one) has a 4 and now that one has a 3.I wonder how I find out what they mean.I'm wondering if that is the last number of the year, hmmmmmmm? Oh but yes I do believe that would be the right base.A shame about the broken bit,but it would be an easier fix than the one I have here.
