G'day, oops i may have confused you, i meant the motorbike would probably have a chrome bore, the powetorque should be hone - able cast iron

matt
Correct.
The Power torque is cast iron, the whole cyl block.
What you are reffering too is an alloy bike cylinder and it has a hard chrome plating, i think Nikasil is one of the trade mark names, there are af few. Most commonly used on 2 stroke dirt bikes, motocross bike 80's to present day. And things like trimmers and chainsaws. The majority of trail bikes have an alloy cylinder with an iron liner. Perfectly honeable. With the head off you can see the iron cylinder in the alloy.
Cheers, Bob.
