The machine was under the floods in Bundy......
My mate wants me to get the Davey going . .
I'm just taking it apart....
Fun job....
I filled the sump with degreaser... sprayed heapd of penetrating fluid down spark plug hole.....
I can't wait to get back on the job.
I am about to get manual for engine....

Took a few bits off, flushed it with degreaser and penetrating fluid overnight.......Waterblasted it even inside sump....... gray oil water mix came out...
Let it dry in the sun, more penetrating fluid..
big socket on flywheel and light taps with wooden hammer. it moved, back and forth, again and again........
Complete revolutions, cleaned it up with a wire brush on the drill.
Cleaned up nice, it was rebuilt before the flood 4 years ago, then 2 meters underwater then left for 4 years......
Bore is good, no slap, no ridge at top of bore.
so far so good

That lemon juice was a MacGiver idea......like on the tv show, just joking...
Today I cleaned out holes in carb...... put it all back together......new fuel tube.
Fueled it up.... sprayed inside the pump with penetrating fluid, to lubricate it as well as connecting a hose to the inlet.
I just used the drill starter as it is easier to turn it over.
Fuel was leaking everywhere, so carb needs new O rings gaskets.... But I wanted to start it so I used starter spray, it fired straightaway.....I did it a few times just to get oil moving around inside......
Then I kept it going by spraying the starter into the carb continuously.......just to hear it going.
The pump work well too.

Here's the cut off extension bar I use for the drill starter. It's straight and solid....
And put in fibre gasket today , seemed to stop fuel leak and new fuel line.... It's a new type, same as whipper snipper fuel line only 9mm OD.... bends nice....
cheers

The carb was leaking but a tap stopped it. It ran perfectly...... Just got to putt it together on a base....
My mate is going to fix it to a trailerfor a special firefighting and water gatherer....He's happy.
I enjoyed that love job.
