Hi guys. I'm "repairing (yet again) an old Victa 2 stroke (plastic carby type, orange base, black engine) I guess it's an 80s model of some sort. My ex found it (abandoned) some time ago & I cleaned it up & got it running for her (saves me using my new B&S on her grass). Anyway in the process of replacing the coil (purchased a new coil) but my problem is in re-assembly, I can't remember where the black & brown wires go.....I've completely forgotten from where they came, I know they relate to the engine cut out some how but I'm really stuck. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated, even a pic. Thanks in advance.
Thanks Bruce, much appreciated. Also, is it possible to replace the piston in this model (Vantage I believe) after all the work I've done on it I still can't get it to fire (spark is good, fuel is getting through to plug) but it feels low on compression, + looking at the piston (through the exhaust port) it appears terribly scored, upon speaking to my ex, she informs me when it stopped working there was smoke coming out the top of the casing (directly above the barrel) so my synopsis is she's not got the fuel mix right & cooked it?? It appears as though the barrel is part of the engine assembly hence making access to the piston impossible. Should I persevere or call it quits on this machine???
Hi Dok, It's great to see that you are persevering with it,you will have a lot of self satifaction when it is running perfectly again.....Best wishes for your project mate, don't forget to post pics when it's finished!!
