Hey Guys,

The model 3 Rotomo ran the long snorkel and Smiley face white top choke assy. The big black choke was not introduced until much later on the M5 S2. In anycase your use of it for storage is a good idea. I also leave my snorkels off for storage VMan.

There is a small possibility that the very first model 3s used the circlip carby in crossover, as they also used the 2a pulley. Ive not seen one fitted though. Your serial is at least 12 000 mowers after the release of the later 3f Style used on the Auto and Special.

The usual carby for 3 is the Victa 125 marked, with pull over locking clip and CC marking behind the brass tickler.

With all this said, its still your resto to do as you like and it looks fantastic as it stands.

One thing to note...The circlip carby is becoming quite rare and expensive now. If you do have any model 2 Rotomos that are incorrect then this carb would be best suited to fitment on those as this is what they all came out with. smile

Hi HT6,

Thanks for the info, I will check my carbs for the right one and swap them over. That's the carb it came with but I am sure I can put it to good use on another resto. :-)

Fantastic job Paul smile

Thankyou for sharing the progress images and info also.

I hope you will continue to show your work on future restorations.

A tip for the pulley alignment....providing the crank is true, you can use a block of wood. Slowly turn the pulley until the highside is visible and give the pulley a moderate tap on this side. Continue around 180 and see if it still dips and rises. Continue this until its running true. Easy fix. If it doesnt align after a few corrections, this usually indicates a bent or slipped crank.

Anyway, thanks again for the contribution of your neat little Roto 3 smile
