First post and I have a question to verifiy what my local Lawnmower Repairer says.
I have a Huscy LTH-130 which is at least 5 years old, and recently after mowing for about an hour it's starting to lose drive, it shows with the lever on the Hydrostatic Drive needing to be pushed further forward to get the same speed and then the reverse goes and eventually forward motion. If the mower is left to cool down completely it this regains drive again.
Service man originally thought that it might be low oil in the gear box (as belts and tension are OK)this was checked and said to be OK (not sure if they topped it up) and the problem continues. So the story is that the Hydro Drive is on it's way out and needs to be replaced.
I know this is hard to diagnose over text base stuff but anyone have a opinion?
I plan on driving the unit until it completely dies and either buy a new mower, new gear box or look for a second hand one.
Mower is on good nick otherwise and would be a shame to condemn it when motor etc. still seem to be in good order.
Thanks in advance
