What started me on the road to mower collection was my first mower. From info I have read I think it is a Victa 18, ie, round fuel tank, "toe cutter" base plate etc. I would like to know how I can identify exactly what year it was manufactured. Assuming I can find the serial number somewhere on the machine is this what is required. ?
Something I have found interesting is that while it has the usual baseplate this mower also has an extra removable ring that clamps around the full base plate that I am guessing was supposed to stop to some extent the operators toes using the mowers "toe cutter" function. I have usually found this thing to be more of a hinderance that a use but still it is an interesting assessory.

Cliff Ryan,

Your Victa model mower would be a model V5 made between 1957 to 1960. congrats

The information that brjbeam should be a great help to you as well. bigshock

The Board also has chart that shows pictures of the machines as well under parts list and manuals area which also has the model codes. cheers

Regards,

Victa Man
