What started me on the road to mower collection was my first mower. From info I have read I think it is a Victa 18, ie, round fuel tank, "toe cutter" base plate etc. I would like to know how I can identify exactly what year it was manufactured. Assuming I can find the serial number somewhere on the machine is this what is required. ? Something I have found interesting is that while it has the usual baseplate this mower also has an extra removable ring that clamps around the full base plate that I am guessing was supposed to stop to some extent the operators toes using the mowers "toe cutter" function. I have usually found this thing to be more of a hinderance that a use but still it is an interesting assessory.
