My McCulloch 1732 PowerPro Weedeater is bogging out during acceleration, I think it needs to be adjusted. It starts right up hot or cold. It idles a little rough, but as soon as you pull on the trigger it starts bogging.

I think this is a Walbro carb WT434. I can't determine which is the high and low settings, they are not marked. Can you help plz.

Thanks and Regards

Annel007,
The setting are:

Step 1. The "L" (low) screw you turn clockwise till it bottoms then turn anti clockwise one and a eighth turns.

Step 2. The "H" (high) screw you turn clockwise till it bottoms then turn anti clockwise one turn.

Step 3. Then start the machine so that you can adjust the low screw.

Step 4. With machine running accelerate and if it hesitates then open the screw until it does not.

Step 5. With the machine running with the throttle fully on you adjust the high screw until it peeks then back off by one eight of a turn.

Tune up procedure should be finished and the machine will run well.

Thank you for the proceedure Bruce, even an idiot like me can follow that description. However I need to know which is the High and Low so I can follow the proc. I have a Black screw close to the motor housing and a White one close to the air filter, which is which?

Annel007,
You will have to take off the plastic covers on the screws to be able to do the adjustments.
The carby should be marked near the screws with the letter 'L' or 'H' but if not the Low screw is the one that is closest to the cylinder (the Black one in you description)

The screws seemed to have a limiter on them so they only turned just a little bit, (half turn), however that little bit managed to do the trick. I'm almost afraid to use it now!!

THANKS BRUCE!!

Annel007,
I am glad to hear that your machine is working now but note what I said about the plastic covers on the screws as you might need to adjust the 'H' or 'L' again in the future.
