looks to me like an old victa powerplus, looks remotely similar to a monaro, but you couldn't use that base for one in a restoration of one.

late 70's is my guess, the one I put up has a early g4 carb with no primer, its rather stuffed we found it at the canberra tip.

Basically it's a department store version of the VC-Sports.If you took the cowl off and put the white VC-sports on it that's what it is.From the engine number that's also what I can tell.108 = VC= sports 78 = 1978.Hope that can shed a bit more light on the subject.

That's what it would look like with the white cowl.Sorry wrong picture that one has the G3 carby. It is sort of the same with the G4 Carby.

Just one quick thing though if it were an original power plus it would have the special muffler and a high compression head, otherwise a cowling swap would make it look like a vc sports laugh

i dont know if it is though , how can i tell ? pull the head ! muffler looks the same as others i've seen here and still a noisy old 2stroke hehe great i think . i dont think i'll change the cowling the only black one i ever saw , might just paint it again , looking a tad tired now and a friend has a vc sport buried in his shed i can have , same as the rover in the pic' didnt start one day so he parked it and a new one was had . its where the rover came from smirk . so a few beers and a clean up at his place soon

The power plus would not be that common.

and a very sad power plus self propelled, its in here with a link back to another thread about it;

I'm not that sure myself Joe so far I seen 3 of these supposed power-plus and I couldn't find any different's with them.Same as I wrecked a power-plus mustang and to me it was just a standard 160cc.So I think if there out there they could be like Bob said they just may not be common.I wouldn't be surprised if power-plus was just some name to try and make them sound different.Maybe just some kind of marketing scheme.I just haven't found one yet. That's not to say they don't exists.I have no-idea if they do.If they do I'd love to see the different's.

They definately exist.

You can buy a dedicated muffler that just for the power plus (and Super 600 slasher).

I would like to know what the exact difference is with the head.

if one of you gent's can see the difference i'll pull it down a little , head off and muffler ? it must need rings by now i think , so i'll put up some pic's if you want . see if there is any in this one because i dont even know what it s'posed to look like inside new if it helps let me know it wont take long .

Hi All, Just to throw my 2 bob's worth in....that muffler looks the same as the one on my Series 70.. 160cc. Tilt-A-Cut.
According to the online store that fits all Victa 2 Strokes 125cc & 160cc from 1968 to 1984. Click HERE wink

A power plus muffler looks te same apart from a hole punched in the muffler where the gas exits, I am yet to cut one open to see if there is any internal difference...

Hi Joe, I find it strange that Victa would make a muffler and use it for only a couple of applications....maybe it is as you say....a standard muffler with a hole punched in it....that seems to make more sense, doesn't it. grin

Well the engines would have been used on a few models.

Power Plus
Power Plus Self propelled
Super 600
Not sure what else.

If the std motor is say 3.5hp
If a few simple mods will get it up to 4hp, more compression and a less restrictive muffler.

I'm sure I have a head here somewhere, I'll dig it up and photograph, from what i have heard, the muffler is slightly different inside, basically it is tuned somewhat to the higher compression.

Cheers
Ty
