Hi, I just bought a Rover ranger with all sorts of weird mods, drive chains and Auto drive drowning in grease, installed wrong so the forward drive slipped, due to the 2 flanges around the bearing near the cog being placed on each side of the bracket .

Also the outer plate on the forward side is sloppy and wobbles, the nut is on tight and hasn't budged so I am inclined to proceed with what follows pending advice.

Was able to get a Rancher wreck to replace the auto drive plates, and the deck.
Upon inspection the cork from the Rancher wreck is bonded to the 2 inside cones, not cork on the outer plate on one side and the cork on the inner cone on the other side.

Will this make any difference to the transmission of power to the axle.

Picture supplied of the transmission from the Ranger manual.

Hi Rusty Cuts

I take it the Friction disc 2( Cork) is glued to Friction plate 3 and 1 is the drive plate or driven plate.

The parts drawing is just drawn so people can see the components not necessarily in the correct locations.

This would need to be correct as the drive plate has more mass and can cool easier than the thin friction plate.

I also see the Greenfield mowers have cork glued to the friction plate.

Cheers
Max.

Hi max, yes that is exactly what I have.

Thank you.
Now to change the gear cogs over and starts the arduous process of putting everything back together.

And thank you to those that put up the manuals they have been very helpful, this is my first pressure plate transmission.
