Just after a bit of advice on the blade options for a Rover Colt 8.

The OEM blades are a straight blade (A01656), but I also see that there are fluted options available. Based on what I saw in the spare parts guides, I used 4 x straight blades, but when I pulled off the blades that were on there, it was a combination of 2 straight and 2 fluted blades.

Does it matter which ones are used as long as they fit ?. Do the fluted blades perform better that straight ?.

Cheers,

Dave.

Standard fitment is 2x Flat and 2x Fluted blades. The flat blades give you a better cut quality without making it too dusty. You only really need 4x fluted when using a catcher. Using all flat you may find it struggle a bit in heavy going as there won't be much wind to clear the clippings from under the deck.

Thanks Nath.

It cut pretty well on 4 flat without too much of a struggle, but that's maybe because they were new.

I'll get some fluted blades as well and swap out 2 of them.
