Eric,
The casing of the starter would be yellow or green and it sounds like it is a Mac 25. To get the starter apart what you have to do is take the 4 screws out that hold the shaft and cover on then you will see the clutch assembly. If this is the unit I need you to advise me so that I can forward you a parts drawing as I can supply you with a brass eylet that will fit into the plastic.
