I have an earlier 550,no speed adjustment that goes too bloody fast. Is it possible to change pulley size to slow it a bit, I am practically jogging after it.The throttle lever is either full blast or idling.

Redeye,

What RPM's is the motor going as it should be running about 2900, maybe the motor is revving too high.

I would be looking at carby adjustment more than playing with pulleys. cheers2

The rev's do seem way too high,I don't have a rev-meter.Would this be a matter of whacking in a carby kit ( G3/G4 ? )or just
taking it apart & cleaning it - I didn't think you could adjust
Victa carby's.

Can you tell me what carby you are talking about as the G4 & G3 are different. cheers2

Redeye,

The power Torque motor is fitted with a G4 carby (Black plastic). Usually the motor rev's out at 2900 RPM's high throttle but if it is higher than that I would be looking for an air leak.

The first place would be the starter 'O' ring and then go to the 'O' ring on the mounting block for the carby.

Normally the speed for the self propelled is a normal walking speed not fast. cheers2

I had a powertorque that revved so hard that the catcher flap would sit horizontal, not sure what a friend of mine did to get it right when I passed it off to him, he did meantion though something about the throttle cable.
