Background: I'm reconditioning an old Anniversary 12 model. It seemed pretty complete when I was given it. I pulled it apart months ago.

This is no doubt going to seem a dumb question, so please go easy on me! lol!

There are two red cables coming from the battery:

One heavy one connects to the main power switch, then on to the positive terminal of the starter motor. I turn the switch and the motor cranks over (haven't looked at firing it up yet), fine.

There's also a smaller red cable that comes from the battery, then heads up behind the top of the starter motor. Connecting/disconnecting this one doesn't seem to have any effect. The starter cranks over regardless.
What does is this cable supposed to do?

Thanks in advance,
Greg

Hi Greg, you don't have to run the wire back to the battery, connecting it to the live side of the starter solonoid does the same thing
