I recently purchased an Ogden power push mower, probably a motormatic . I am after a catcher or a diagram showing measurements of the catcher, any help would be appreciated.
Thanks John

Hi John,

I had a Pope and a Ogden reel push mower and got a catcher at a tip shop for $5. for the Pope but was thinking
it wouldn't be that difficult to change the brackets on the Pope catcher to make it fit the Ogden,

Pope and Ogden push mowers aren't worth much ,I couldn't get $20. for the 2 mowers with a catcher, if you
look around you will eventually find a cheap catcher as the high priced mowers never sell.

Not sure if anyone here has a Ogden catcher to get the measurements, you could try a Facebook mower group if need be.

I've seen these push reel mowers not sell for $20. at a garage sale and they just throw them out with the rubbish.

Cheers
Max.

Max, just bought a Pope catcher. The width is 15 inch, an Ogden width is 14 inch. I will attempt to adjust the width, then make the two brackets.

G'day John,

Yes it looks like it would be quicker to modify a Pope catcher than try to locate a Ogden catcher, it shouldn't be too much trouble to shorten the catcher to fit ,a few images from online to see the shape of the brackets.

Another thing I didn't mention before was the Pope has a deflector plate when the grass catcher is used to make
collecting grass more efficient ,you could make a deflector plate if need be ,I've used push mowers without the
deflector plate and the catcher still got filled with grass, the Ogden looks to have a deflector plate too when using
a catcher.

Cheers
Max.

Max, great news, just picked up an Ogden mower with a catcher. I have repainted the catcher and wrecked the mower, keeping a few spares for myself.
Never thought I would find an Ogden catcher in South Australia.
Thanks John

G'day John.

That's lucky you found one ,I see lots of cheap Ogden mowers but hardly ever see a catcher ,I just had a quick look and
can see a catcher in Victoria for $25. but the brackets make it look more like a Pope catcher.

Cheers
Max.
