Hey all.

Should start by saying im reasonably new to all this small engine stuff.

I have inherited a 17" Scott bonnar 45 with a Tecumseh H30-35478Y on it. Engine has a few bits missing and is in poor condition. I am going to cut my losses and start from scratch with a new engine. But before I can go to far I need to find out the shaft diameter so I can source a replacement engine? I've done some googling but can't seem to find what I'm looking for.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Firstly welcome to the ODK Forums.

The size shaft should be a 5/8 diameter but it could also be a 3/4. These are the only two sizes in output shafts with the 3/4 converted to 19mm and the 5/8 is 16 mm if my memory serves me correctly. Many of the engine manufacturers are using the 19mm now and as such you will have to purchase a new clutch half to fit the new size shaft if this is the case.
