I have recentley been experimenting with coolpower high performance fortified caster oil as i have been using it in model aircraft engines with good results mixed with methanol,As this product is degumed i thought i would try mixing it with unleaded fuel at 25:1, it mixes readily with petrol and runs a treat in the victa ,it shows little evidence of smoke when running fast or slow, best of all it smells great and does take your breath away like some other two stroke oils, i guess it might be something to do with being a vegetable oil, at this stage it has not fouled the plug and it still starts first pull as it has always done rgds graham

hi gmax you could be right on the price i think it is about $13-75 a ltr but as i had pleny on hand i thought i would give it a try and i am pleased with the results as i have inoperable lung cancer and i like my two strokes its just easier on the lungs when mowing and it smells good too,[just like being at rowley park speedway], have a good day gmax.

hi Graham, I agree with you about the smell, i used to muck around with model plane engines also, it does smell a lot nicer than 2 stroke oil, i guess if it does no harm keep using it'

Graham,
Be careful using the caster oil, only mix the quantity you need for each use. This oil is used in racing motors and loses its viscosity after 24hrs. I used to use my leftover race fuel in my Victa Ultima as it was no good for a 2 stroke motor.

hi PAUL regarding the mixing of castor with petrol and using it within 24 hrs, that would apply to castrol M ,the oil i am refering to is a different product called COOLPOWER, degummed and fortified castor oil it mixes readily with petrol, stays mixed untill ready for use in the future just like like normal 2 stroke oil,the benifites are pleasant sweet smell, low smoke, and easier to breathe, i think it is a vegetable product it is made for use in small 2 stroke engines rgds graham

Just be careful when handling castor oil as the non-food/medical grade versions can contain ricin, which is highly toxic.
