Hi all,

I just got hold of an old Rover Baron 45 lawnmower and was wondering what is the correct spark plug to use on this motor?

It's a 4 stroke briggs and stratton engine 3.5 horsepower 148cc engine. also has impala written on the side and everything looks pretty original.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Regards,

Converse

Concerse,

It depends on how old the engine and you can tell by the code number as the first two numbers are the year that the engine was made i.e 920040576 (1992).

If it was before 1990 then you can use a CJ8 or NGK BM6A spark plug or after you can use a J19LM or NGK BR2LM.

Hope that this is of some help. cheers2

Hi Bruce,

I have all the numbers here I think this means mine is from 1982 from the last code number?

the model number is: 93508
the type number is: 0328-01
the code number is: 82020309

Just want to make sure becuase I was sold a plug today that's meant to suit this mower but I'm just not sure if it's the right one. They gave me an NGK BM4A plug.

Thanks again for all the help.

Regards,

Converse
