Does anyone know if the old Cox Scout XL rideon mower is supposed to have 4 blades or 2? It is a hand me down from my family and only currently has 2 blades on it, (that need replacing). It does look like it has positions for 4 blades.
Supposed to have 4 I think. My old girl has only two now as well since one hole is ripped out thanks to previous tenant. I am thinking about replacing the disc and putting her back to four although it does a perfectly fine job with just the two. I had to make a cutter brake for it since it didn't have one but would love to see a photo of what an original one is supposed to look like if there is any chance yours has one and you could take a photo and post it for me.
Thanks for that aussietrev. I asked the place where i got the new blades and he said you only need 4 if you are using a catcher. 2 will be fine. Not sure of which bit you mean exactly but more than happy to take some pics and post them.
Hi Brendon. See this thread https://www.outdoorking-forum.com.au/forum/u...amp;Main=9811&Number=59524#Post59524 The brake contacts the underside of the drive pulley to stop the disc turning when the cutter is disengaged. The pivot point I used is on a tab just in front of the main cutter drive hub but I couldn't find anywhere that looked like an attachment point for the spring end so made a tab that bolts around the cutter engage bar. Would love to know how it really is meant to be.
