I recently purchased a Steinmax 1500 with no instruction manual at a garage sale. I have filed the nicks & sharpened the cutters & replaced bent washer. The motor says model Steinmax 1500 my 2 feed tubes say steinmax 1800
The cutters were binding (clunking) against the sheet metal dust chutes in 2 places & I ball peened & formed a 1/4"H x 3/4" diameter dome in these areas of sheet metal that were to close. Now everything spins freely with no motor stalling or fuse blowing.
FINALLY AFTER SHARPENING ALL OF THE CUTTERS (180 grit flat diamond file for a razor edge)(even the small round ones if anyone needs to know how I sharpened them just ask & do so at your own risk) ALTERING SHEET METAL & RUSTOLEUM LOL MAKING WOODEN PUSH STICKS BOTH WITH DEPTH LIMITING BLOCKS I NEED YOUR HELP FELLOW DIY PEOPLE
I need some basic instruction..as this can be a dangerous machine if not operated properly.
And I dont want to destroy the machine either.
What is the capacity or limitation for each cutter & tube assembly?
This shredder has 2 cutter assemblies 1 is a disc (round plate)with 2 round silver dollar sized cutters screwed onto it & has a thick flat steel triangle cutter (2 flutes) in the middle.
Cutter No.2 wicked looking WOW! LOL has several stacked layers of knives (1/8" steel)
I have 2 feed tubes 1 hollow super tall tube.
The other is shorter & has a small branch tube in the side & a rectangular slot in the top with rubber flaps. I believe this one is used with the flat disc.
Thanks for your time everyone or anyone.

I also have a Steinmx Haecksel Max 1500. Did you find any parts? Who makes or sells this chipper/shredder?
Thanks,
Ric
