Hi, I have an 80A that is not generating any spark..Any info that anyone could provide or things to test would be much appreciated.. Thanks..

Hi wwwspw, I want you to try to do a couple of things: 1. First get a new spark plug. 2. Make sure that non of the wires from the coil are not earthing out. 3. Do that the wires from the stop switch are also not earthing out. 4. Disconnect wires earthing to the frame. 5. Check air gap between the coil and flywheel it should only be at the biggest a business card clearence. 6. Now test for spark by holding the plug against the frame. The spark on these units is very poor at the best of times, so look very carefull.

Hi Bruce, Thanks for the above, I checked that and all appears to be ok. I had the coil tested at a repair centre and was told it was dead. Is it possible to fix it or is there available a replacement coil? Thanks and Regards.

wwwspw, The part number that you require is 217439 coil. I will let you know in the next couple of days if I can get new or second hand.

wwwspw, That coil looks the same as a roybi coil are you sure that it is the original coil?
