This should be the Pace" model prior to yours unkie.
Note the Standard" from on the right has a 70cc this would be a 2V70 Series 2-villiers-70cc. The centre is a Mk3 98cc and the flagship is a villiers 7F (note the cowl on the 98cc,makes it easy to identify it as a Mk3 as the Mk2 engine did not come with provisions for a cowl.
Maybee your engine carried on to the series 3 and just isnt listed? I really dont know...I do know a Pace enthusiast,so if I can raise him maybee he can clarify it with correct Image.
Thanks mate, your efforts have been a great help! It's this kind of detective work that I love about this hobby. I've tried to remain solely a Victa collector, but this interest in Villiers has really broadened my interests. I've even got an opportunity to get my hands on a Champion like the one pictured on the left, in serious need of restoration, but am unsure what a fair price would be to offer. Any thoughts? Are they collectible/rare/desirable?
sorry to go a little off topic but just came accros this post after searching about villiers midget engines. I have an alex grahame rotary mower which am going to restore and spied an alex grahame to the left of the picture, any chance you have some more info on the mower? Mine is missing the muffler and air filterand am searching for these items if anyone is willing to part with them? The mower is in storage back home at the moment will start restor in the next month or two and will start a thread if my own.
thanks in advance matt

Sorry Chemist, I've no info at all on the AG as it appeared at a rally day I think. There is bound to be a forum member with info - maybe try one of the other threads. Good luck with your search

Hi fishngurudes, and a warm welcome to the forum. It's nice to have you aboard, as we all like to learn new things and tinker here. To enable us to identify your engine, could you please post some pics? Instructions for posting pics using our inline uploader and be found HERE
Once again fishngurudes, to OutdoorKing.
Please do not PM me asking for support. Please post your questions in the appropriate forums, as the replies it may receive may help all members, not just the individual member. Kindest Regards, Darryl
hello, engine spec. 240x should be a mk3 midget engine, supplied to Taplin. I have no idea who taplin was or what they supplied. it was fitted with a v148x3e air filter and a b118au/1 cowl. regards, john
Going back to the earlier pics , the crankcases marked 764 I believe are a Villiers 79 cc supplied only to Atco for reel mowers between about 1949 and 1960. Rope or kick start, 1454 type mower.
Just throwing in another engine number if any one can help Villiers 7F No.. is 119D 13380 engine is on a Pace 2A automatic, does this mean that because it doesn't have an X but a D instead it is imported or am I reading the posts incorrectly.
I was pretty sure you would have seen the pic, I don't know why I didn't look in History Forum thank for pointing me to it.
I noticed in a villiers manual that engines could be dated and spec'd by the engine number, do you know if there is a listing anywhere for this as I haven't been able to find anything.
