Hello i have a 6.5 Hp scorpion pressure cleaner. I believe it is a Torini engine??? It has problems running. If it starts will run on low idle for a little while then cut out, if you go to step up to high idle it will cut out. I thought fuel or spark. It has plenty of spark. I have had the fuel tank off and is clean fuel, have had the carby off cleaned and checked and blown out. Put back together and still the same. I have removed the exhaust to see if it is breathing properly. I have removed the brass pressure pump as i was told that this could cause this ???? I don't know! I am getting a little frustrated. everything says yes but it says no! Does anybody know anything about these pressure cleaners and motors. Does anybody have a service manual for these engines.
All help is greatly apreciated

Without too much to go on I am guessing its a honda copy motor? some photos would be good and some kind of model number off the engine. On my honda copy engine on my air compressor, we richened the mixture, and lifted the idle slightly and a similar list of problems solved.

They also are very touchy with valve adjustment.

Hi leshby, I have done some research for you, we do need you, as Joe has said, to post the exact model number of your machine and a close-up pic of the engine and please include the engine serial numbers. wink

As some background, all petrol SP Tools pressure washers use the Torini engine. The petrol range of pressure washers includes the SPW1300P, SWP1500P, SPW2500P, SPW3600P and the SPW4500P. Here are some specs:
Engine:6.5hp OHV Scorpion
Pressure:2500psi (150bar)
Max Pressure:2500psi
Flow:480L/hr
Speed:3600rpm
Pump:Brass axial B2200
Hose:8m
Lance:Variable fan
Weight:40kg

Here's a small pic....Is this the same as yours?

Hoping this is of help,

Your engine seems to be the one I referred to, a 196cc pushrod overhead valve single cylinder, model 168-F1/2, which is sold by multiple Chinese suppliers in Shanghai, Ningbo,Chongqing and Guangzhou. I'm unclear on which, if any, of them actually makes it. Torini is apparently a name attached by one particular vendor, possibly an Australian importer. The air cleaner seems to be missing from yours in the photograph - I hope you aren't going to run it like that.

Here is the owner manual for what seems to be your engine:
http://pdfdownloadfree.net/?pdfurl=...Ta1dTYn6ufnqSWoqabpaivlK2emqSrl97YzJeo4g

There are indications on the internet that the engine is the same as a Honda GS65, an old model made in 1976-77. Here is the GS65 illustrated parts list:
http://www.p3power.ca/GS65%20Parts%20Diagram%20-%20Final.pdf

If you can verify the relationship with the GS65 by comparing your engine with the parts list, it may make it possible to get a service manual and perhaps Honda spare parts. Alternatively, the cloned parts seem to be available from one of the US importers of the engine (Harbor Freight).

the air cleaner was removed for checking and trying to isolate the problem why it wont run

I am willing to lay down a bet its acopy of one of these....

Anyhow, I have found with a lot of them, the fuel system gives a lot of grief, the plastics arent up to fuel grade standard most of the time and either is any rubber hose or seal, On a couple of water pumps we replaced worn out hondas, we put on a copy engine then took the entire fuel system off one of the genuine engines and havent had a great deal of drama...

that looks like it. do you have a workshop manual for this engine. now all i need is how to fix the running problem. as i can see i believe it is a fuel problem or lack of it getting through. i have checked the carburetor a dozen times and it all looks good. is there something i am missing on the carburation side of things.

The 168-F1/2 Chonda looks as much like the GX200 as it does like the GS65, Joe. I don't know what the differences were between those two Honda engines anyway.

I have had a look at the gs65 information you supplied. The carby on mine has HUAYI Designed in japan written on it. It appears to look the same as the in the GS 65 Parts diagrams.

leshby, there is a fair amount of service information in the 168-F1/2 owner manual, which you can access through the link I supplied in an earlier post in this thread. Also, while I don't know of a free source for a GS65 service manual, you can probably get most of what you want from the GX200 short-form service manual available free here:
http://www.honda-engines-eu.com/en/images/996.pdf

I hope between the 168-F1/2 owner manual and the GX200 service manual you can find what you need, but if not, you might find it in one of the GS65 service manuals for sale on ebay.

We can go through a carburetor tune-up process in this thread if you like. I don't have the carburetor in front of me, so we'd just be working from pictures you'd post plus the manuals. Meanwhile, you did turn the fuel tap ("gas valve") fully on, didn't you? (Push it fully to the right, as shown in the sticker near the tap):

A fuel tap that was turned off but leaked, or one that was internally mangled and just didn't work, might explain your problems. You could test the fuel tap by removing the drain plug low down on the front of the float bowl and checking the flow rate of fuel after allowing time for the float bowl to empty. The fuel should flow full stream with the fuel tap on, and stop with the fuel tap off.

when i bought my repco pressure machine, i researched the TORINI engine it was fitted with

i believe it's made by LONCIN who make a lot of small pit bikes as well

seems a great engine, i mean, with 3 yrs motor guarantee, how can you argue ?
