Advice needed please, "drive" will not engage, pulleys, belts & blade operating but no "drive".Mower can be pushed manually with push/drive lever in both positions and clicking, whirring noise emanate from "drive shaft?" Cheers.

Sound like either the lever is not engaging right or the transmassion (or the diff part of the trans) is blown.

Thanks RR, have dropped the transmission and the engage lever is very stiff, have put some lubricant inside and around with some success at unfreezing it. I am mulling over whether it is worthwhile re installing it to see if successful or get it serviced while it's out, I have no expertise with transmission gears etc so will not probe any further. Cheers.

Ok, more on my MT44H, I have re assembled it and actually had it going and cutting , BUT, 1 spring keeps slipping off and mower stops moving. I have either got a worn spring or haven't reconnected it to it's proper location, this spring crosses from side to side of frame. Any ideas ?? ![[Linked Image]](https://www.outdoorking-forum.com.au/forum/uploads/usergals/2012/05/full-5843-6426-004.jpg)

The spring in your first picture is trashed, it is stretched severely and its end hook is completely destroyed. Whether or not anything else is wrong as well, that spring is useless.

It is stretched.
Not sure about the end. Some of them do have weird stuff.
More pics please. Can you open the pics in paint and do some coloured circles or something. Showing from where to where and the like.
I will have a look what i have here. I pulled a Viking apart yesterday. It wasnt a 444H But i might have something here that will work. Most bearing/engineering supply places have a range of springs. You could guess the length and strength, you could test it weight for distance with an old style fish scale but keep in mind with those three pulled loops it will change things. Bob.
