hi Bruce , guys
I finally bought me and old mower, stipped it down completly, every boltexcept getting to the piston i dont have the right tool. anyway i put it back together, tank/carby completly cleaned, have compresion, have spark, new airfilter.. could it be maybe the magneto gap to fly wheeel ? what is it? the spark is very strong, maybe spark plug gap..? i push the primer bulb and i see petrol going in. I,m ttrying to start it with out the throtle cord attached does that make a differance ? i know the linkages aren't touching the stop switch
i know theres a lot but i thought i'd get it over in one mail... rather than 2 or 3 days
thanks a lot Bruce guys

briggsboy, One question did you try to start the mower without the blade plate on?

briggsboy,
Does the mower have a bar blade?
Is that what you mean by one blade?

Briggsboy, If you had the blade bar off and tried to start the engine the bet is you have sheared the flywheel key. The bar and blades act as a counter weight for the timing.
