I have reassembled the motor and carb on my vista 2 stroke engine. It has a black plastic carb with the spark plug on the left hand side - the only writing on the machine is 'Victa Sports' with 'Power Torque Engine' on the plastic engine cover. I have tried pull starting, I have good spark but it doesn't fire. When I remove the spark plug it is wet with fuel.... maybe it is flooding?? When I reassembled the carb did I need to rotate the poppit valve into a certain position - it seemed to me it didn't matter. Would that be an issue? In addition I wasn't sure which way up the black rubber diaphram should have gone back in but it did only seemed to go on one way to have a good fit when the back cover of the carb snapped back on. I would appreciate any things to correct or look for in getting this machine going again.

Graham,
Information has been sent to you regarding the carby.

Also check your fuel, because if it is over 8 weeks old it will not fire and cause the same problem especially if the mower is old.

Bruce,

Thanks for sending the info. I don't usually have any problem opening and viewing Adobe PDF files, however I could not open the one you sent. I will try some alternatives.... but if you could try sending again? Yes, the fuel was over 8 weeks old.... so will get some fresh fuel/oil and see how we go.

Cheers,
Graham
