Hello i have a 89 victa pro 12. With the friction drive plates does anyone know where to buy new ones on the net or to have mine rebuilt. All help appreciated also with the 12hp briggs & stratton engine model 281707 type0213-01 code 89062211. The STD piston what is the measurements also the bore measurements

To find technical information on that engine you appear to need B&S repair manual part no. 270962. The older repair manual, which can be accessed on line, does not cover this model. The operators manual (URL below) will give you the nominal bore (87.31 mm) but not the piston size.

I Cant help you out with the friction plates, But i would suggest talking to a few mower repair shops in your area.

The B&S repair manual part no. 270962 i found a complete downloadable pdf version on the net free and have downloaded it now. Thanks for the information.

Thanks leshby, that is a great manual, and a major update from the old one I've been using up to now. The two in combination seem to cover a lot of information, though I haven't been able to find piston sizes in the new one so far.

I just want all the sizes to check the wear and tolerances for the rebuild due to smashed conrod. Hope all find these pdf handy. i did it really helped me. The only thing i need now is to find out more about the friction ring replacement renewal or rebuild. If i can find it on the net cheap as will help me out heaps.

With the friction ring plates on an 1989 victa pro 12. Does anyone know whether they are cork or break pad material. I have had a look at mine which appear to be origional, and they are very thin and look like break pad material. If they are how thick is the material supposed to be and what is the external and internal diameters. From what i have found out so far is they are the same as a rover rancher. All help is appreciated.
