Need to know what type of thread is on the 5 screws holding the plastic carb to the tank, same thread as on the long screw which holds the air filter to the carb. See pic - part # 534
Approx 3/16 inch it seems.
I have various very similar screws in my boxes and jars of old nuts, bolts and screws but mostly British, Euro and Japanese - some are very close but not exact. Presumes it is a standard USA type of thread. Been through every website about B and S parts, none say what the actual thread type is.
I think they are an oddball size meaning you'll have to buy the screws from the manufacturer or supplier and not a standard bolt shop.
Nothing matches the thread pitch on these carby screws on my metric and imperial thread gauge.Looks about 0.8 mm pitch
The screw part number is 692200 but I don't use Duck Duck Go if I'm looking for parts as you won't get a complex and advanced algorithm that ensures you get the most accurate results for your search phrase or more relevant results.
Thanks Max, certainly is an oddball thread, I couldn't find anything to match although there's a metric screw which has the right TPI but is slightly wider. Been an interesting exercise trawling through the B & S parts lists, I never realised they made so many different motors.
That sorta like 1/8 pipe threads. Sae and British are very close but still not right. 1/8 BSPT is smaller Diameter and 28 tpi where SAE 1/8 NPT is slightly larger OD and is 27 tpi.
I would had never know the difference if it was a Kawasaki oil sensor problem.
That is why I went out a pulled the screws here and sized them with the tap and dies. But I wish companies would put the thread size in the parts lists too.
That makes sense AVB why I could not find what the pitch was as my thread gauge only goes to 30 TPI , when I measured the screws I got 3/16 and the pitch I estimated at .8 mm and the pitch is 0.794 so I was close .
