Latest idea I have come up with on these machines seeing Victa standardised the pulley when they started fitting PT's and 4 strokes to these and I have finally stumbled on a very simple way to add the extra weight to the crank. Don't know why I didn't think of it before because it is such a simple modification. The pulley is a dished pulley so I just turned up a sleve to slip over the standard boss and then filled the pulley with lead. I weighed a blade carrier and boss and that came in at 622 grams and the lead filled pulley and boss came in at 659 grams so that should now prevent any kickback. Time will tell

Now I am looking for any pulleys that were fitted to the PT's and 4 strokes that were fitted to these 24's, it will make life so much easier . Another alternative will be to get aluminium pulleys and bore them out to fit over the boss but this still means I would need to add a steel disc for the added weight. There is always a way it depends on the cost and the amount of time required to achieve the end result
