Hi again guys, another question for you, I was given a mower with a Kawasaki FJ180V motor on it, the guy who gave it to me said he had to put fuel down the air filter box to start it. On investigation I have discovered that the choke is not closing no matter where you set the throttle cable, I cannot seem to find any accurate detailed diagrams on-line to show exactly where the linkages go. I have enclosed a photo of the current set up. It is set up at the moment with the governor linkage attached to the choke butterfly, i'm confused. Hope you can help, cheers.
Hi Mick If you look at the photo in this link on adjusting the fj180 governor it looks like the choke linkage is on the throttle (see the spring similarity). when you put throttle on choke, does it open the throttle?
Found the issue Tyler, some moron has put the springs and linkages on in the wrong places, swapped them around and it works fine now, I must admit it took me a while to figure it out as I am unfamiliar with these engines. I know for next time. Cheers and thanks.
