Hi all,

So the story goes the last trailer load of crap metal with a s that I took in , there was this old newish looking mower
sitting in the crap pile so in the boot it went.

I find it difficult to believe how little work it's done ,a heap of compression ,the starter cup looks like it's got no wear ,can't
find much wear anywhere.

I think it's a 1965 model Barclay , but possibly had a different decal, I don't mind gold mowers.

Also found a few tools etc , all working but haven't tried the soldering iron yet but it does look newish.

Cheers
Max.

It looks as though someone might have restored it, then died and the vultures sorry (not!) relations viewed it as junk and discarded it.
Why else would it be in such good condition but with missing decals?

Ahh, if only victa had kept producing the thumblatch catcher series, they would be in better shape today!

Hi Norm and Mf,

No not upmarket ,they pay less than a quarter for scrap than where you go Norm , but if you look on the side of the
road I look for 2 million plus houses as I once got a new 200 cc trail bike with only 500 kms and sold it for $500. It
had a digital speedo.

The Birko, I wired up and it works well ,nothing surprises me what people throw out ,some people buy all new tools to repair a
House ,then sell the house and throw all the tools out.

Hasn't been done up before Mf ,I thought the same thing from a distance but it's all original ,I cleaned out the old black fuel , cleaned the
air filter and it runs well.

Too good to use as a mower. It's now too valuable to use. Sell it unless you want to keep it. It sounds good.

I’m not sure if this old Pace is worth much Mf, I have a few sixties Pace mowers and never paid much for them , no one seems interested in them here ,even when I bid on sixties
pace mowers on eBay I’m usually the only bidder and I think they are cheap at the starting
Price but others must be waiting until the starting price is $10. Before bidding.

If I sell a rare seventies Victa that looks as clean as the pace ,I start at $100 then it ends up at $50 and I end up selling it for scrap or an interstate buyer drives over to collect the mower
and it usually takes months to sell ,if you knew it would take months to sell at $50 you would
Just scrap the mower to start with.

Old mowers seem like trash to most people but treasure to some people.

Cheers
Max.
