Hi all, first post on your brilliant forum.
So I bought this....
Strip is going well except for the drive gear on the end of the PTO.
The exploded chassis diagram (found on this forum ... thanks) shows a key and nothing else.
No retaining nut or grub screw ... so I assume a slight press.
Before I start heating and yeeting on it with a gear puller ... can someone confirm this is how it comes off ??

Cheers ..... Dugg

PS - yeah i know .. non original engine .. at least thats old as well (1977)

Hi Dugg,
Not a lot of Imperial people here, they float in and out so waiting for an answer might take a while. I will take a couple of guesses to see if I can help. Gears like that are sometimes threaded but from the pics there doesn't seem like any threads there. Secondly check around the shaft/sprocket to see if there is any sign of a keyslot in the gear.

Looks like I may have solved my own problem. Seems a local on-line lawn mower repair shop and is wrecking an old Imperial and put pictures of parts on line.
Here is what the PTO shaft looks like ...
As you can see ... its threaded.

I shall stop pulling and start twisting. grin

If it's any help, the old Masport Olympics ( which is the son of the Morrison which is identical to the imperial) had a left hand thread on some sprockets
