I did see a Deutscher mower with a Honda engine a few weeks back for $60 on Gumtree but that will be sold now so unless you find another old cheap engine to get the muffler off , I guess the other cheap alternative is to just modify a Briggs muffler to fit.
A bit of flat steel cut and drilled and a pipe then a little welding.
Thanks Tyler, I do have a couple of Briggs motors here I have pulled out of Greenfields not exactly sure what HP they were but one I think was an 11 so hopefully that will fit. Thanks for the heads up
No probs Norm, always good to have a easy fix. Must have been a slightly different model as GA reckon they are straight interchangeable bolts and all. At least it was 90% straight fit
The bloke has taken his Deutscher back to Ballarat a happy man that his R36 is up and running again. It is a big round trip 3 hours each way to get it serviced but as Deutscher won't service it because they are not OH&S compliant he has little choice. A 40 year old machine that has another 40 years left in it just with a bit of maintenance. Not many other rideons would be around that long
