Hi all, and hope the new year is off to a good start for all. I am rebuilding a Chinese copy 4 stroke, just for the exercise and for something to do mind you, I know they are not a popular engine, but, for me it's a hobby as I am retired so I enjoy it. Generally I am pretty good mechanically but a smidgen of doubt has crept in and just wanting to know if the black fitting as in photo one go over the shaft in the centre of the oil thrower, as in photo 2. I want to be 100% sure I am assembling it right because it's too late after assembly to find something incorrect, also because i'm getting older the memory and concentration span shortens. Cheers all.
Hi MickyD, yes, as in photo 2 is correct. That is part of the governor. As the cam driven oil slinger gets up to RPM the metal weights throw outwards hence pushing out the black nipple out and in turn governing the motor. Cheers, Ted
