Hi Everyone,

I was after a bit of help and advice with this carburettor that I have, It's off a 2 hp B&S engine that had not been run for a long time.

The fuel tank has been cleaned out (Was full of old fuel) and the pick up tube was blocked with crud, as you can see in the photos I have the needle out and giving everything a really good clean.

I did manage to get the engine running on Brake clean but not on fuel yet. I wanted to know if there is anything else I need to do after cleaning and new Gaskets etc for it to start pulling fuel up from the tank.

Do I need to prime it a certain way?

Is this a pulse carburettor?

Any help or advice would be great

Hi Mich,

I've seen that video that carb I think is a later version and has a rubber diaphram that is the fuel pump. The one I have doesn't have that, I'm going to see how I go after I finish cleaning everything and reassemble it back together.

I put it back together to see if it would run and success it fired up on the first pull and runs well.

I've torn down some of it to give it an overnight soak to get rid of some build up gunk and to also get rid of some surface rust.

Overall I think a good clean and service and a touch up in a few spots will have it looking good and running well
