It seems that I'm regularly adjusting the gap between the clutch body and the engine. It's quite annoying when i'm cutting the lawn and suddenly i feel the vibration becomes strong. When this happens, the clutch body has moved closer to the engine and i have to readjust it. I usually set the gap between 5mm to 7mm between the clutch body and the engine. Will this be the correct gap ? If yes, is there something else i should check to prevent this from moving from time to time ?.

Snannon, if this is happening, you quite likely have something flogged out in the engine side clutch half. There are 2 types of clutch half - those with a single bolt and key, and those with a couple of set screws.

If its moving in and out, then there is play. I have seen so many motors with flogged out crankshaft keyways that I would suggest you remove the motor (or disassemble the clutch) to have a good look for issues. The clutch half will likely have an oversize (flogged out) hole.

Thanks Tyler. I will attempt to check this out and get some photos.
