Quick question for the mods, why is there a limit for attachments set at 2.85mb per photo?
I understand the idea of a limit to prevent people posting 50 minute videos and clogging up copious amounts of data space, but I am finding 2.85mb to be progressively less attainable.
It was fine using my 10 year old olympus camera, but on even a fairly basic 'smart' phone, a decent image is normally 2.7-3mb, HD more like 3.6. I took about 15 photos of a mower in HD and standard, and only 2x came under the 2.85mb limit - and they are bloody awful photos even to my eye.
I tried compressing but 1) they look only 1/2 as good and 2) I can't be bothered wasting 10 minutes trying to buggerise around doing it.
There is probably a good way to do it but I don't know - heck, the way I get the photos off the phone in the first place is to email them to myself and access them that way.
I am not saying put a sky high file limit that allows 4K, 2160p photos, but is there someway around the 2.85mb?
Though it is sort of scary to think that 1 photo now takes up more space that what is on a 3.5in floppy disc isn't it
Thanks
