Many thanks for posting.

This is such an important old lawnmower.
The Greens Silens Messor (silent cutter)
publicized the new 'chain drive' as being silent.



I hope this one is saved.

Looks pretty much complete.
Only thing I see missing is leg back arm power..........
I saw an add for an American push mower with a 20 inch cut....... I think it was Scotties.

Hi Max and all silent cutter lovers.

Max, that is such an important image.
I would like to make a couple of points: -

The chain drive was quieter than straight-cut gears used
on early reel mowers. Greens made it a feature with their
Silens Messor (the silent cutter).

I wish folks were more observant of noise pollution nowadays.

This NZ image is significant in that to shows the stand
was from Auckland's HJ Ryan (as sole agent).
