So when I received a large number of manuals, that I saved from the tip, I also received some individual pieces of information sent to victa this dealership about the hi-torque 6 engine and how it produces its %15 more power.
Information on tweeks to the the G4 and LM carbys to help them perform better.
Also some changes to the original Victa Twin engine design that were made to fix issues with the original engine design.
Finally some information from 1984 and 1986 about a few settings and modules for different models.
I hope this information is helpful to members. Especially MF who I know will find the Hi-Torque 6 information very very interesting and helpful. The 6 is for the 6 foot pounds of torque the engine creates.......
I wasn't sure if I wanted to post certain information, due to concerns about people stripping parts from the Hi-Torque engines to sell on at inflated prices. But this Web forum has given me so much that it's the right thing to do so here is what I have so far.
I love that it explains the changes made to get the %15 increase in power in the Hi-Torque engines. Not just the high compression head, but some other small but essential change to gain the increase.
Anyway hope it's useful for the right reasons and not to strip good mowers of essential parts.
No worries Max, it's people like you Mowerfreak and Jack that is the reasons I decide to share this information I could have kept without a worry but because of the support of a small number of members, some named above some not, that I thought the members that helped at least need this and what keeps this forum alive!!! I'll be resubscribing next year for sure!
Thanks to all that have helped and stuck with me even tho an original incident earlier this year made some members not reply to any of my posts, but only after standing up for myself.
.
You said it, Mowerfreak "Look at me know" I think I might be due to have my level upped on my profile 🤣🤣🤣
To all ODK members, I'd like to say that Mowerfreak, Max and Jack are the main reasons I decided to share this information with this forum.
Yes I posted this stuff, but it wouldn't be here if it wasn't for the members named above. Especially a massive shout out to Mowerfreak because he has supported me and my threads the entire time! He's had to be humble while watching me collect the mower he's been looking for since he started collecting and has done so. He's been a mentor and the best person to bounce ideas off, even when they are ludicrous and didn't put me down when schooling me on the ideas that he knew the right answer too.
So thank you to ODK, Jack, Max and Especially Mowerfreak! I hope I can continue to find stuff like this and continue to be a positive influence on this forum.
Hi Sean, MF, Jack and Alan
I was given a book of microfiche from a mower shop that closed over 2 years ago , there
are some pages with Victa technical bulletins ,I've never looked at them as I don't have a
microfiche reader also tonnes of other mower documents Victa and other makes on microfiche.
One Day. :)
Cheers
Max.
Bloody hell Maxee!!! I was just loaned a folder that has all of the head office memos from 1980 through to 1995.
What year do yours start at? Because I'm trying to find as many as I can from the 70's. The 70's seems to be a bit of a mystery with some information, the green folded vol.2 only goes as high as the Impala 2 then what ever the dealership was sent to add to the folder, then the owners manuals and very little other hard information about every model from that era.
The green folders give a heap of information about pretty much all 72 and before models and the 80's dealership manuals do the same from 81 through to the current day. But there is a big gap 75-80 where I can't find hard information about exact models and parts with detailed information like we get from the green folders and the 80's dealership manuals.
So if you have any information from 75-80 could you possibly inbox me? I want to ask a few questions and you might have the answers in that information you have!!!!
Cheers for showing this stuff!!! I'm going to scan the stuff I have but it's not a small job. The pictures I'm attaching are of the folder I've been very very lucky to be loaned. These are incredibly important to preserve. This info will help preserve the machines themselves as well as rich historical data itself.
Please don't let this become the exclusive preserve of Facebookland.
Ahh, if only victa had kept producing the thumblatch catcher series, they would be in better shape today!
Hi Guys
The Victa stuff I have is mostly already on this forum but it looks like I have 1972 to about early nineties.
I've got no way to see them ,I did see a free reader on gumtree at the moment in NSW but I'm no where
near there now.
It can be a little strange this site as my last post was structured like this post but after posting, it decided
to changed to one continuous line of text, this has happened a few times on this site ,No Biggie.
I don't mind posting docs on this site, just have to work out how to get copies.
Tried a camera but not good enough.
Cheers
Max.
