So I'm not sure if there is a thread on this but I haven't found one which talks or goes through all of the different faces of the very early Victa chokes.
So I'm actually starting this thread to ask for input on a range of different style faces and material the very simple but effective choke/airfilter that was used on the early models of Victa.
I have pictures of some I own, 1 a mate owns and other reference pictures.
1: Black writing and the upside-down smile Victa embossed. 2: Red writing and the upside-down smile Victa embossed. 3: Red writing Victa embossed straight. 4: Red start and Run. 5: Showing one that in darkness looks like black writing. 6: Showing in the bright light that the writing is Red. 7: Great example of the effect of UV on colour change 8: More translucent material.
I'd love to see any other orientations or style of these chokes and any history about the evolution of the faces.
Thanks Max, perfectly easy to follow information!!!
Im very happy to use good quality reproduction parts but if I can get an original part in good condition for a fair price, I'll snap the original up. That's how all bar 1 of the 5 pre 1960 restorations came about, I just stumbled upon enough of the rarer parts at cheap prices (compared to ebay) and now I'm just waiting for a couple of parts for my model 2 and auto but I've got everything for my model 5c, special 5c and my model 8 standard.
So here is a very interesting choke off a barn find model 1. Translucent body rather than black. It is definitely not faded by UV its %100 Translucent.
