G/Day All.
Need info on a A150 hurricane lawnmower motor, and what type of mower it came off, any info would be appreciated.

Cheers.
Maurice.

G'day Maurice and Paul

Not sure what the engine is off without seeing the engine.

Possibly this 153cc LINK https://www.outdoorking-forum.com.au/forum/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=71742

http://vintagemowers.net/mower_hurricane.php

I've seen some Hurricane motors listed as 160 CC 2 STROKE ENGINE with 2 3/8" BORE X 2 1/8" STROKE but this equals 154.27 cc

Cheers
Max.

As far as I know Maurice the Exceller collect o matic with the Hurricane motor was a 125cc motor ,the muffler
is different but the 150 cc Hurricane motor should bolt on the same.

Hi Maurice, Max and Paul
Max has done a better job here than I could here.

I have one question for Maurice: -
where did you get the term "A150" from?
I'm wondering whether that reflects the total CC ...

Max, we know the Hurricane Model 125A had a total CC of 150cc
and a swept volume of 124cc.
BORE: 2.125" STROKE 2.125".
[that's the same as the Victa 125 - 2 1/8 inch square.

The 'A' designates an aluminium head.
So Max, do you think this engine is, in fact, a Hurricane Model 125A?
That seems to be the engine I see.

The complicating factor is the 'A150' thing.
I need images of that.

Cheers

Yes Jack the motor looks like the 125A ,I was going by the info on Vintage mowers but it looks
like where it lists the AMPLION MOWERS WITH THE 125 AND 160 CC ENGINES ,the
160 should be 185 total cubic capacity or 150 for total cubic capacity unless marketing called
the 153 (154) swept volume a 160cc ,I had a 490cc bike that was marketed as a 500 cc.

The thing is the bigger bore motor is only 6.35 mm bigger in the bore diameter so I would
say it may be difficult to tell the bore size from an image of the Hurricane motor.

I'm not sure how you can tell the bigger Hurricane motor from an image unless the muffler
mounting flange is larger with the 153cc (154cc) swept Volume.

Vintage Mowers does list the COLLECT-O-MATIC as having the 185 cc motor as an option.

Cheers
Max.

G/Day Jack & Max.
I sent a message to the seller about any info on the motor, the only info on the motor was A150. I asked him about a eng number but no response.
Cheers.
Maurice.
