Hello
ODK history lovers
In the day Australia’s
Victa was an international success,
exporting to over 50 countries. Victa was a winner of
numerous export awards.
Victa opened its first UK office in
1961, and this was
central to expansion across Europe. By
1965 Victa had
won its first export award.
This brochure dates to the 1980s and it depicts a
Victa Professional Super 700. Ever heard of them?
At no stage do I believe that Victa sold their
Super 700 in Australia.
This presents very much a unique export model.
The thing is … it looks
very similar to an AUS-made slasher mower
of the period, but with cosmetic design changes, and fitted with a
German JLO 2-stroke powerplant [I think].
Did Victa have an agreement with another AUS mower manufacturer
to sell this mower in the UK and the Continent? Any information welcome.
